Sensex, Nifty extend rally; Tata Motors rallies 4%

All indices were trading in the green on the NSE, with realty and auto being the biggest gainers with an over 1.5% rise. Benchmark indices are trading at day's high with the Nifty trading above 10,800-mark in mid-morning trade. The BSE was trading up over 200 points aided by Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, TCS and L&T. Varroc Engineering debuted on stock exchanges with a 5% gain to its issue price of Rs967. The IPO was worth Rs1,955cr at the higher end of its price band of Rs965-967. The Metal stocks are in focus today as US tariffs are set to take effect. Prices of metals have already fallen, while global markets are readying themselves for new tariffs from the US on China worth $34 billion worth of goods, which does not augur well for the metal space.
