Shares of metal companies fell as investors booked profits after Tuesday's gains ahead of the expiry of March derivative series later today and an extended weekend.
The Nifty Metal Index declined as much as 2% today weighed by losses in shares of Tata Steel, Jindal Steel & Power and Hindalco Industries. On Tuesday, the index had risen 1.8% as concern over global trade war eased.
