वित्त मंत्रालय (finance ministry) सरकारी बैंकों के स्टॉक्स को मिलाकर एक एक्सचेंज ट्रेडेड फंड (exchange traded fund) लॉन्च करने पर विचार कर रहा है। एक सरकारी अधिकारी ने यह जानकारी दी। इससे पहले सरकार दो ईटीएफ लॉन्च कर चुकी है।अधिकारी ने कहा, ‘हम पीएसयू यानी सरकारी बैंकों के स्टॉक्स को मिलाकर ईटीएफ (ETF) लाने पर विचार कर रहे हैं। हम संभावित शेयरों की प्राइस मूवमेंट की स्टडी कर रहे हैं, जो इंडेक्स में शामिल हो सकते हैं।’ इसका नाम बैंक एक्सचेंज ट्रेडेड फंड (ETF) होगा, जो सरकार द्वारा पूर्व में लॉन्च किए गए दो ईटीएफ- सीपीएसई ईटीएफ (CPSE ETF) और भारत-22 ईटीएफ (Bharat-22 ETF) के अतिरिक्त होगा। इन्हें इन्वेस्टर्स की ओर से अच्छा रिस्पॉन्स मिला था।
सरकार ने भारत-22 ईटीएफ से वर्ष 2017 तक 32,900 करोड़ रुपए और सीपीएसई ईटीएफ से वर्ष 2014 तक 28,500 करोड़ रुपए जुटाए थे।

ईवाई इंडिया की इस रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, मौजूदा कैलेंडर वर्ष की चौथी तिमाही के दौरान बीएसई और एनएसई पर केवल दो ही आईपीओ ने दस्तक दी, जबकि साल 2017 की चौथी तिमाही में नौ और साल 2016 की अंतिम तिमाही में तीन आईपीओ पेश हुए थे.
